令和3年5～6月に大和・真壁地区の小中義務教育学校計7校の児童生徒たち約700名が、東京2020オリンピック競技大会に出場するモンゴル国の射撃選手を応援するため、応援フラッグへの寄せ書きやメッセージカードを添えたサクラのくす玉制作を行いました。
小・義務教育学校前期課程では、高学年の代表クラスの児童らが、応援フレーズが紹介された資料を参考に、モンゴル語や日本語で応援フラッグへ各校1枚の寄せ書きをしました。
中・義務教育学校後期課程では、美術部などが代表して折り紙でサクラのくす玉を制作。そして、全校生徒が記入したメッセージカードをくす玉に下げました。
応援フラッグやサクラのくす玉には、「夢を目指して頑張れ」や「私たちも応援しています」など児童・生徒から思い思いの激励の言葉が書かれました。

Students in Sakuragawa City sent cheering messages to Mongolian shooters.
In order to support the Mongolian shooters who will participate in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, about 700 students of total 7 elementary and junior high schools in Yamato and Makabe district made cheering flags and the origami cherry blossom flowers with message cards from May to June 2021.
At the elementary schools, students in the representative upper grade classes wrote messages to each flag in Mongolia and Japanese languages, referring to the material that introduced the cheering Mongolian phrases.
At the junior high schools, the art club and other representatives made the origami cherry blossom flowers. Then, the message cards filled out by all students were hung from the origami cherry blossom flowers.
Words of encouragement from students such as "Do your best for your dreams" and "We also support you" were written on the flags and message cards of the origami cherry blossom flowers.

児童生徒の感想／Commnts from students
・モンゴルの選手たちに、「頑張れ！！」という気持ちを込めて書きました。
・書いたメッセージがモンゴルの射撃選手たちに届くといいなと思いました。
・旗に寄せ書きをしたことがなかったので緊張しましたが、優勝目指して頑張れと伝えたいです。
・初めて外国の応援をして、外国に興味を持ちました。
・たくさんの応援の言葉を書いたので、頑張って欲しいなと思いました。
・モンゴルはどんな国なのかなって、興味がわきました。調べてみたら、日本と違うところがたくさんあって驚きました。
・この応援フラッグで、モンゴルと桜川市がもっともっと仲良くなれるといいなと思いました。
・この旗を見て、モンゴルの射撃選手たちが頑張ってくれるといいなと思いました。
・このくす玉を見て、モンゴルの射撃選手が勇気をもらってくれると嬉しいです。

先生から制作の様子の紹介／Comments from teachers
・初めて見るキリル文字に関心を持ち、一文字一文字丁寧にメッセージを書いていました。
・モンゴルの言葉に触れ、モンゴルに興味をもった児童もいました。
・文字でヤマザクラや筑波山をデザインしたので、出来上がりを見て、歓声が上がっていました。
・モンゴルについて、タブレットで調べる子が増えました。
・モンゴル語を書くのは初めてだったので、何度も書いて練習していました。
・「旗にモンゴル射撃選手への応援メッセージを書こう」と伝えたところ、児童たちはとても喜んでいました。
・国際交流について考える貴重な体験ができました。これを機にオリンピックの射撃やモンゴルについてさらに興味を持ってくれることと思います。

・Students were interested in the Cyrillic alphabet that they saw for the first time, and wrote the message carefully one by one.
